Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah is an Indian actor, playback vocalist and musician, who is mostly in Tamil as well as Malayalam film languages. Annayum, Rasoolum marked her Malayalam as well as Tamil debut. The actress made her debut in Tamil alongside Pachaikili Muthucharam. Andrea Jeremiah was born in an Anglo-Indian family in Arakkonam the capital of Tamil Nadu.Andrea's father is a lawyer with the Madras High Court. Her mother is the older cousin of an assistant researcher Leuven, Belgium. Jeremiah grew up in the vicinity of Chennai she was a student at National Public School before graduating from Women's Christian College. Andrea was able to begin studying piano at age eight. Andrea was a huge geek and dreamed of becoming psychiatrist. She sang in the Jackson Five style troupe Young Stars when she was 10. This ensemble shaped her singing and music composition career. Also, she was a theatre student at her school as well as appearing in various shows staged by The Madras Players and EVAM. She was the President of the Student Senate at Women's Christian College. Andrea began her professional career acting in the theatre, by appearing in Girish Karanad's Nagamandala. She was featured in a leo commercial for coffee alongside the actor Shiva in 2006. In 2006, she starred in a television series that aired on Podhigai. She has performed across India. She briefly appeared in Kanda Mudhal's final scene (2005). She sang in a song to Gautham Vasudev's Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. He wanted her to appear as one of his female leads in Pachaikili Muthucharam. This film was a film adaptation of the novel by James Siegel Derailed. The film features Andrea playing Kalyani an aspiring homemaker, whose husband gets involved in an affair, and gets blackmailed. Andrea got the part after actresses Simran Tabu and Tabu were invited to audition for the film. The film came out during the first half of 2010. In 2011, she agreed to play a minor support role in Venkatprabhu's multi-starrer Mankatha and it was launched in August 2011 Her Malayalam film debut alongside the Annayum film of Rajeeev Ratti by Rasoolum in the year 2013.
